An Intelligent Nudging System to Guide Online Learners

This work discusses a nudging intervention mechanism combined with an artificial intelligence (AI) system for early detection of learners’ risk failing or dropping out. Different types personalized nudges were designed according to educational principles and the classification. The impact on performance, dropout reduction, satisfaction was evaluated through study 252 learners in first-year course at fully online university. groups designed, each receiving different set nudges. Results showed that positively impacted performance satisfaction, reduced rates. significantly increased when provided. Our research reinforced role AI as useful online, distance, open learning providing timely learner support, improved experiences, enhanced learner-teacher communication.
